All
prices are in US dollars.

Although shown at CEDIA 2000 in prototype form, Simaudio's new Moon DVD
player will be available in November. The projected retail price is $3000-$3500.

Thiel's SW1 subwoofer has created a
bit of a stir even though it is officially unavailable. This cutaway version shows how
massive the driver's magnet is and the substantial internal bracing of the cabinet.

There's just something about a stack
of Mark Levinson equipment that draws audiophiles' eyes. From top to bottom are the
two-box No.40 Media Console (final retail price to be announced), two No.434 125W mono
amplifiers ($4195 each), and three No.436 mono amps ($5995 each).

mono amplifier ($4195).

Revel's new B15 powered subwoofer
($2995 projected retail price) sat on static display but had the unmistakable look of its
family lineage -- which is to say that it resembles the speakers in the Revel Performa
line.

The Infinity Modulus home-theater
speaker system ($1699, available later this year) includes four satellites with brackets,
a single center-channel speaker, and a 300W powered subwoofer. The TV bracket shown
supporting the satellites above is a $149 option that hides the wires very effectively.

Onkyo's TX-DS787 THX Ultra-certified
receiver ($1049) had Doug Blackburn lamenting his current reference A/V receiver -- also
from Onkyo. This new receiver offers 135Wpc over six channels, 24/96 DACs, and THX
Surround EX 7.1 processing.

B&K's AV1260 is a
six-zone/12-channel power amp that costs a mere $1698 -- less than $150 per channel.

Not to be outdone, Parasound's Zone
Master Z12 amplifier ($2000) offers 50 watts to each of its dozen channels.

Dynaudio's revamped Audience line of
speakers won't be available until later in the year, but models were on display at CEDIA
nonetheless. From left to right: Audience 62 ($1199 per pair), 72 ($1599 per pair), and 82
($2399 per pair). In back of the Audience 82 is the Audience 122 ($1499 per pair).

For those who seek simplicity and
larger speakers, the Polk Digital Solution-2 ($3999) is an upscale version of the
company's RMDS-1 Dolby Digital home-theater system with floorstanding front-channel
speakers.
