Bryston's new 14B-ST ($5500) is
essentially two of the company's 7B-ST monoblocks in one chassis. It's rated at 500Wpc at
8 ohms and a whopping 800Wpc in 4 ohms. Jeff Fritz took so much ribbing for his stern
expression in an earlier photo that he made sure to crack a big smile this time.

Tash Goka of Canadian distributor
Divergent Technologies explains the merits of Antique Sound Lab's KMP-22-FOX single-ended
monoblock, which uses 6C33C tubes, the same used in the Lamm ML1 and ML2 amps. Marc
Mickelson could not believe the ASL amps retailed for $1600 per pair with convenient
external biasing. A review pair is earmarked for him.

Antique Sound Lab's AQ-2002 preamp
is tube regulated and even includes a tubed phono stage. It's priced at a remarkable
$1200.

Cary's first solid-state amp is the
CAD-500-T model that offers 200Wpc over its five channels. This enormous amp has balanced
and single-ended inputs. Cary was also showing an unnamed DVD player.

Marc Mickelson overheard a showgoer
proclaiming, "The new Quads are in this room," and so Marc followed the trail.
Shown above and sockless is the larger ESL-989 ($13,000 CDN per pair), while the ESL-988
($9500 CDN per pair) played. The difference between the two? The ESL-989 is larger, adding
an electrostatic panel at the top and bottom of the speaker.

Tetra Listening Instruments of
Ottawa, Canada unveiled two new products. On the right is the Space Classic ($3650 per
pair in optional gloss finish shown), which is an updated version of their original Space
loudspeaker. On the left is the new Rebel, which is also a two-way floorstander ($2350 per
pair).

No, this is not some kind of
electronic erasable drawing board. Sean Triggs of Korbon Trading displays a Wharfedale
Loudpanel speaker which is essentially a pair of transducers mounted on a sound board to
reproduce frequencies down to 200Hz. A pair of Loudpanels with subwoofer runs $699 CDN.
