The Manger Swing loudspeaker features just one
of the company's innovative Manger drivers, which operates from 100Hz to 35kHz. The
speaker retails for 10,000 DM per pair and is intended for use with a subwoofer.

Ascendo showed the System E loudspeaker. It is
a modular three-way speaker system that features variable time alignment to compensate for
listening position. The price is 11,000 DM per pair. More Ascendo products, including the
company's room-correction device, can be seen in our Faces and
Places Gallery.

Octave Research showed the Jubilee Mono tube
amplifier, which can output 250W into 4 ohms. The price is 75,000 DM each.

America's Infinity showed the Kappa 200
(right) and Kappa 400 loudspeakers, priced at 2000 DM and 3000 DM per pair respectively.

Amazon's LS1 loudspeaker retails for 21,000 DM
and uses some 16 drivers per side in a line-source array. There is no tweeter, and the
frequency response is rated from 65Hz upward. Since bass response is limited, Amazon
recommends Audio Physic's Luna subwoofer for use with the LS1.

Martion Audiosysteme showed the Orgon four-way
loudspeaker, a horn-loaded design with four amplifiers per speaker (two of which operate
in pure class A). It is priced at 80,000 DM per pair.

The tiny Synthesis Ensemble integrated
amplifier (about 12" across) is rated at 30Wpc and priced at 3000 DM. It sounded
wonderful in a system with Zingali speakers.

Switzerland's AvantGarde (not to be confused
the company making the horn-loaded speakers) showed their First II loudspeaker, priced at
10,600 DM per pair. One novel feature of this speaker is its selectable crossover filter
for altering the response of the drive units and tailoring the speaker to the room. If you
notice on the right photo, which shows the back of the speaker, there are numerous black
holes above the speaker cable. The crossover is changed by inserting jumpers into the
various holes. For example, the tweeter can be altered +/- .5dB by placing a jumper in
either the top or third set of holes.

Triangle Electroacoustique from France showed
their new three-way Celius loudspeaker. Enhancements over previous models include a new
tweeter and an improved cabinet. The price is 4000 DM per pair and availability is said to
be September.
