
Anthem's AVM 20 surround-sound processor
($3199, display not included) replaces the company's AVM 2 model. The ample feature set,
which includes multichannel SACD and DVD-A bass management, impressed the Home Theater & Sound
crew.

Another new surround-sound processor is
Arcam's FMJ AV8, which will cost $4000-$5000 when it's available in early 2002.

Paradigm will be replacing its venerable Atom
loudspeaker with the new Atom V3, which will begin shipping in November. Pricing is yet to
be determined.

Boulder's 2008 phono preamplifier ($35,000)
can accommodate up to three analog setups. It was shown at CEDIA without its outboard
power supply.


Aerial Acoustics' handsome Model 20T
loudspeaker was on static display only. When available, it will cost $18,000 per pair in
black or silver finish -- in addition to real-wood veneers.
