 CEDIA
Expo 2001 -- Indianapolis, IN USA
ShowStoppers - Series 3
All prices in US dollars.

Perhaps the most impressive product we
encountered anywhere at CEDIA was the $2995 4.4-pound Plus Corporation Piano HE-3100 DLP
projector, which uses a new video processing chip from Texas Instruments. Its 70"+
video image was very bright -- terrific to our eyes. And the unit is available in five
colors too!

The Cinematrix Delphi DVD player (top, $2995)
automatically optimizes, corrects, and calibrates its color temperature, gamma, tint,
saturation, black level, contrast, and picture uniformity for any monitor to which it's
connected. It does this via a sensor that attaches to the monitor's screen ($500), but
this will eventually be replaced by one for use at the seated position.

HDTV breaks the $1000 price barrier with the
Samsung TSL-2793HF flat-screen monitor ($999).

Myryad's Cameo lifestyle system ($2695) is a
24/96 upsampling CD player, tuner, and integrated amp linked by Myryad's MY Link system.
Features include one-touch power-up of the whole system, a moving-magnet phono stage, and
an alarm clock.

Panasonic's entry in the DVD-recorder
sweepstakes is the DMR-E20 ($999), which also plays DVD-As.

Carver Corporation is back with two new
products: the C-1000A surround-sound receiver ($2200) and Knight Shadow powered subwoofer
($849).
