SoundStage! LIVE A/V Tour 2001

Son et Image 2001 -- Montreal, Canada
Picture of the Day - March 25

SoundStagers Marc Mickelson, Doug Schneider and Wes Phillips along with Wes' wife Joan Mannes (far left) attended a special demo of 24-bit/88.2kHz four-channel master recordings hosted by the engineer who made them, Peter McGrath of Wilson Audio (right). Pairs of Wilson Grand SLAMM Series III speakers for the front channels and MAXX for the rears were driven by multiple Mark Levinson No.33H and No.434 amplifiers and other Proceed and Mark Levinson electronics. The source was a Nagra digital recorder. The sound was enormous and displayed dynamic contrasts and loudness capability that could only be compared to live music. In fact, more than a few live concerts haven't sounded as clear and powerful.
