took a novel approach to constructing a show system by offering a collection of
home-theater products that worked well together and was offered as a complete system
costing $11,998 CDN. The heart of the system was the Pioneer Elite Pro 510 53" HDTV
projection TV, which costs $8000 CDN itself. Audio electronics were also from Pioneer, the
Elite VSX-36 receiver and DV-434 progressive-scan DVD player, and speakers were from
Paradigm -- the Monitor 7s in front, CC-370 in the center, ADP-370 dipoles as surrounds,
and the PW-2200 powered subwoofer. The surround sound was impressive, but the crisp 16:9
image of the TV was what captured our attention. The bottom picture shown above is of the
TV's gorgeous and very bright image; it was shot with our standard show-reporting
equipment.
