The newest product from API's Athena brand is
the AS-P400 subwoofer ($399), whose 10" driver is powered by a 100W amplifier. Like
every Athena product we've encountered, the AS-P400 seemingly offers more than its asking
price would indicate.

The newest and largest speaker in the Legacy
Audio line is the 325-pound Helix ($40,000/pair), which includes a 15" powered
subwoofer with 1000W amp and a digital processor that controls time delay and frequency
response.

Canton's Karat Reference 2 DC ($10,000/pair)
is the company's new flagship speaker. It's a three-way design that uses
aluminum-manganese drivers and an isolated crossover to prevent microphonic distortions.
For display at CEDIA, Canton mounted the crossover externally.

Another thin speaker with side-firing woofer
is Vienna Acoustics new Strauss ($6595 in finish shown).

The successor to JPS Labs' highly regarded and
SoundStage! Reviewers'
Choice Power AC power cord is the new Power AC+ ($499). Joe Skubinski of JPS Labs says
the Power AC+ "uses improved inner materials for better clarity and bass
definition."

Nordost used CEDIA to unveil its CineFlex line
of custom-installation wires ($2.39-$4.29 per foot), which are rated as category 5
enhanced and suitable for use in commercial installations. They come in three different
colors.

Sonus Faber's gorgeous new Cremona Auditor
speakers ($3585 per pair, $650 per pair for matching stands)...

...were shown with the new Cremona Center
($3595 each, $450 for matching stand) in the company's graphite finish.

One of the newest entries in the
small-satellite-speaker sweepstakes is the Audio Pro Bravo Allroom ($999/set of five),
which comes in any of six different colors. The finish is a true eight-coat lacquer, not
simply glossy paint. |
