Universal audio/video players are becoming more prevalent. The Marantz DV8300 ($1599) is joined by...

...the Onkyo DV-SP800 ($1000). Both the Marantz and Onkyo players accommodate CDs and SACDs as well as DVD-V and DVD-A discs and offer progressive-scan video.

Onkyo's DR-C500 ($599) is a five-disc DVD changer five-channel home-theater receiver. It uses Tripath digital-amplification technology to deliver 100Wpc and offers progressive-scan video -- all in one relatively compact and good-looking chassis. It's shown above in silver and black finishes.

Mirage has expanded its OMNI speaker line to include more traditional floorstanding, minimonitor and center-channel models. Above from right to left are the OMNI CC ($400), OMNI FX ($250 each), OMNI 50 ($400/pair), OMNI 60 ($600/pair), OMNI 250 ($800/pair), and OMNI 260 ($1000/pair)

Here is a closer look at the OMNI 260 ($1000/pair) in both black and cherry finishes...

...as well as the patented Omniguide driver technology that's at the heart of all OMNI-series speakers.
