We shot a photo of the new 47 Laboratory Shigaraki components in Montreal only to find out those weren't quite what the production models would look like. According to the factory and reps, what you see above is the final product. From left to right on the top shelf are the 4715 DAC (€1400), 4717 integrated amplifier (€2000), and 4716 transport (€2100). The components across the bottom shelf are all power supplies corresponding to the units above.

Germany's Ascendo relaunched their System K three-way loudspeaker priced at (€14,000). The close-up photo on the right shows that the top cabinet that houses the tweeter is decoupled from the woofer cabinet (there is a very small space between the two). The woofer cabinet is also decoupled from the floor. You can also vary the position of the tweeter cabinet for correct driver time alignment to the listener.

Germany's Certac showed their tall and slender three-way Aeon loudspeaker that features a powered subwoofer section with two 6"x9" woofers per side. The close-up photo on the right shows the midrange drivers and tweeter mounted in their own separate enclosure. The "B&O compatible" Aeon is priced at €8000 per pair.

Speaker technology is in abundance in Germany. The Lansche Nr. 3 loudspeaker features an 8mm Corona ion tweeter along with a 10cm ceramic midrange, a 21cm magnesium woofer, and a 22cm aluminum/ceramic subwoofer. The price is €12,500 per pair.

Marantz showed the new €2,500 DV8300 universal disc player that is compatible with DVD-A, SACD, DVD-V, and CD. It also features progressive-scan video and has Dolby Digital and DTS decoding built in.

Marantz also showed the new €11,000 VP-12S1 DLP projector, which features Faroudja DCDi video processing, component and RGB video inputs, and a 700 ANSI lumen rating.

Pioneer calls this series of components SlimLine for good reason. The 55mm-tall DV-350 DVD player retails for €249.

This year Italy's U-vola brought out stands for their nifty-looking suspended loudspeakers. The price of the speakers with stands is €3500 per pair.
