Audio Physic wowed both Jeff Fritz and Doug
Schneider with their new €40,000 Kronos loudspeaker. From the generous bass emanating
from the active woofer system to the crystalline highs and sharp imaging produced from the
forward-firing coaxial driver, the Kronos delivered room-filling, full-range sound. The
driver configuration was a decided departure for Audio Physic, though they seemed to have
their new flagship dialed in to an impressive degree.
The rest of the system consisted of the Octave
Jubilee preamplifier, an Audio Aero Capitole Mk II CD player, and the new Audio Physic
Strada mono amplifiers. The latter produces an impressive 800W into a 2-ohm load. The
Kronos-based system produced the most dynamic sound heard so far at the show. |
