Mickelson's terse assessment of the sound produced by Tenor Audio 75 Wi mono
integrated/power amps ($19,900/pair), which he heard at CES with large Rockport speakers.
This time the amps drove Verity Audio Parsifal Encore speakers ($16,000/pair in finish
shown). A Classé Omega SACD player, Silversmith Audio Palladium interconnects and speaker
cables, and Harmonic Resolution Systems Deadend M2 isolation bases rounded out the system,
which displayed scads of detail, texture, and tonal shading. Down to its electronics, this
system would impress non-audiophiles with its good looks and sheer luxury factor. |
