The audiodharma Cable Cooker 2.0 ($649) at work breaking in a pair of interconnects. The Cable Cooker works with speaker cables and power cords too.

Nakamichi showed a number of interesting products at CES 2001, including the Soundspace 12 home-theater system with DVD player, processor, two subwoofers and five speakers ($6000, stands optional).

We saw and heard the U-vola loudspeakers ($2500 per pair) hanging around the room of their manufacturer, Syn Factory of Italy.

The VCC-5 ($1995) is the first center-channel speaker from Vandersteen.

Totem Acoustic's new Wind floorstander ($6595 per pair) will be available in six to eight weeks.

ATI's Audio-Video Processor ($3995) looks like a piece of professional equipment but offers much flexibility for consumers.

The James 10 SX ($2795) is an in-wall subwoofer.

Teac's Nostalgia GF-280 CD/FM/AM player ($239) has a functional horn.

RBH Sound's Signature Series 661SE speaker ($800 per pair) sits atop of the company's 1010SEP subwoofer ($1600 each).

The stand-mounted Definitive Technology PowerMonitor 700 speaker ($1200 per pair).

New from Rotel are the RSX-1065 A/V receiver (bottom, $2000) and RDV-1080 DVD-V/DVD-A player ($1500).

The Mt. Everest speaker from Meadow Song Labs ($13,500 per pair with active crossover, $11,800 per pair with passive crossover) uses a planar mid-tweeter driver, which sits atop a bass module.
