Immedia

In the Immedia room, fine components in conjunction with
superb setup produced a big, smooth, musical sound with articulate bass. The analog
front-end consisted of the Immedia RPM-1 turntable with upgraded platter and power supply,
RPM speed controller, RPM tonearm, and Lyra Helikon phono cartridge set in the SSC
turntable bass (about $10,285 system price), and digital was handled by the 47 Labs
Flatfish CD player with Dumpty power supply ($8000). Electronics were the Herron Audio
UTPH-1 phono preamp ($3250), VTSP-1A preamplifier ($3995), and M150 mono power amps
($5895), while transducers were the Audio Physic Avanti III loudspeakers (approximately
$8500 per pair in black, $9500 in wood finishes). Bass was handled by the Audio Physic
Rhea subwoofer (approximately $5000). Speaker cables were Super M-Path from DiMarzio
($500), and all equipment rested on SSC Basis Evolution Isolation Platforms ($395) and
Finite Elemente Pagode equipment stands.Pictured are Keith Herron of Herron Audio (right),
