Speaker Art's Clef and Super Clef loudspeakers are favorites of Doug Schneider, but the Super Clefs have now morphed into a floorstander with transmission-line bass loading, the Super Clef TL (the speaker closest to the rack, $3800). Electronics for this standout system were the Marsh Sound Design MSD-A400S solid-state amp ($2300), Placette Audio Linestage ($4000) and a Sony SACD player. All cabling was from Tekline, including the PC-Ag12 silver power cord and AG-2 silver speaker cables. The sound was very robust and involving, and the system was set up in what would be a standard living/listening room.
