Series 3

Caelin Gabriel of Shunyata Research shows his new Taipan power cord ($649), which he recommends for preamps and power amps. Shunyata products were used in 20 different rooms as well as the Million Dollar System.

Albert Von Schweikert stands proudly behind his new dB-99 loudspeakers. The speaker has a 10" powered woofer section and a claimed 99dB sensitivity rating. The price is $5995 per pair.

Although the Shun Mook room is always more decked out than any other (notice the Mpingo Discs at strategic points on the walls), the company says it can set up a show room in only a few hours.

Scott Novak of Synergistic Research shows his company's new The Line Doubler component video cable, which features the company's Active Shielding technology. The retail price is $450 for a one-meter length. Synergistic also introduced the A/C Master Coupler Active with a retail price of $399. The company's popular A/C Master Coupler power cord remains in the lineup, but it now has Classic added to the end of its name. Synergistic Research also took part in the Million Dollar System.

Well-known cable maker George Cardas holds his new tonearm cable. Pricing has not yet been set.

More from Cardas. Jeff Fritz holds the new Golden Ratio capacitor, which features a "laminated dielectric." Availability is said to be the first quarter of 2002.

And still more. Roger Kanno wears a pair of Sennheiser HD-600 headphones that are equipped with the new Cardas $150 replacement cord. Besides Cardas cabling, the cord features a proprietary headphone plug that is said to eliminate crosstalk problems inherent in the standard plug's design.
