Halcro showed its DM36 amp ($16,000), which is
the first stereo model from the Australian company known for its striking, and expensive,
solid-state monoblocks.

The looks of Bel Canto's products have
changed, but the company's use of innovative technology hasn't. The PRE6 six-channel
preamp (top, price to be determined) and eVo2i integrated amp ($3000) are new offerings
that build on Bel Canto's use of sophisticated microprocessors and digital-amplification
circuitry.

Balanced Audio Technology distributed a
four-page white paper on its new AV-10 A/V processor ($10,000-$15,000 depending on
configuration), which uses six 6922 tubes in its analog output stage.

Also from BAT is the 150Wpc VK-300x integrated
amplifier, which costs $4000-$6000 depending on extras like remote control, a phono stage
and tube options.

Replacing the well-known Andra in
EgglestonWorks' product line is the Andra II ($18,900), which is five inches taller and
has a greater cabinet volume than the original model. There are also four finishes
available other than black.

The Italian Viva Aurora mono amps
($25,000/pair) produce 30 class-A SET watts and were just too cool-looking, and
great-sounding, to pass by without taking a picture.

The Swans M-200 and M-20 W speakers include
amplification and volume control for the entire speaker system, which costs $480. Bass and
treble controls are also part of the system.

Billed as the world's smallest horn-loaded
speakers, the Zingali Satellite costs $799/pair with a passive subwoofer. The speakers are
$400/pair alone. |
