January 7 - Part 2

High-tech Blu-ray Disc on display: Samsung's
BD-HR1000 is a wireless Blu-ray recorder with a 400GB hard drive. According to the
company, it will burn 2.5 hours of HD programming on a 25GB Blu-ray disc. Price and
availability are to be announced closer to the shipping date, which is expected to be
later this year.

Prototype or production model? No one would
say, but this Sharp Blu-ray player sure was attractive. We'd just like to know when it's
actually going to be available, along with the...

...Toshiba HD-XA1 HD DVD player ($499 to $799,
depending on configuration).

The mother of all Blu-ray players? No, just
the Sony PS3. More showgoers were snapping pictures of this product than any other we saw.
We were unable to pin down company representatives on the exact price and expected ship
date.

The Sherwood Newcastle HSB-600 is an
inexpensive ($300) HDMI switching device. It transcodes component video to HDMI and
features two HDMI inputs.
